IODC Mission
Orphanage directors have, what seems to most of us, a task that is insurmountable. Why? Because this calling is gigantic. Imagine raising 25 to 50 children making sure they are loved and cared for as your own. Burnout and despair can happen having a 24/7 responsibility to the precious children in their care. These incredible directors need encouragement, help, and a vote of confidence from those outside the orphanage.
The mission of the IODC is to provide an opportunity for directors to bond with one another. This bonding gives them the emotional boost and encouragement needed to move forward in boldness and joy. The knowledge that they are not alone and the wealth of wisdom, understanding, and vision they receive from their peers encourages them to press on and overcome. The IODC is the perfect vehicle to help support these heros.
In 2019 we began to think in terms of several conferences per year instead of just one annually. We believe in order to maintain its anointing by God and its special effectiveness, keeping the conference a small and intimate gathering is important.
In order to feasibly manifest this expanded vision and reach more of the estimated 200,000 orphanage directors in our world, we seek to enlist regional and country directors to help facilitate the conferences in their own region.
